| St. James the Less and St. Helen
Having once been dominant inside the town walls with eight parishes, the Roman Catholic Church was removed by King Henry the eighth at the dissolution of the Monastries. The Parish Church of St James the Less and St Helen was constructed in Priory Street in 1835. This church benefits from being beside the Priory Street car park. Its congregation comes from a wide area and there are several services each weekend starting on Saturday evening and ending with a 6.30 pm service on Sundays. A web-site for this church can be found at St James the Less and St Helen.
