CTCC organises a variety of events each year to which all are welcome whether members of the individual churches or not. The member churches also open their doors to visitors on a regular basis. Some of the events taking place in Colchester Churches are listed below. Others may appear on the Churches' own web-sites, yet more can normally be found on Church notice boards.

On the first Thursday of each month at 1.10 pm a service of Holy Communion takes place at the Castle Methodist Church. The purpose of this service is to provide spiritual nourishment for those working in, or just visiting the town centre. It is open to all with no reservation. The service is timed to last not more than 30 minutes allowing those who attend during their lunch break time to return to their place of work in good time.

On the first Sunday of the week of prayer for Christian Unity, Ministers exchange pulpits for the morning service as an expression of their committment to unity. The evening service of the Sunday ending that week is always a single service hosted by one of the member churches.

LENT worship at lunchtime, 1.00 pm to 1.45 pm.

Short ecumenical services, usually following a theme, are held each week throughout Lent. The services are led by Ministers appointed to the hosting church and are OPEN TO ALL.

Good Friday.

A walk of witness takes place in the town centre each Good Friday starting around midday. This is followed by an open air service. All wanting to celebrate the life and passion of Jesus Christ are welcome to join this witness. Hymn sheets will be available.

Good Friday, again
Each Good Friday, evening worship takes place at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester starting at 7.30pm. All are welcome to this event which is totally free, a retiring collection is taken for Christian Aid. Seats are not bookable, early arrival is suggested.

A variety of other ecumenical events are arranged each year, details are available from CTCC member churches.
